Chloe: questions for you
or more like, observation
observational question
me: ok
Chloe: So i’m surprised you are anti tshirt with scarf, but pro-sunglasses at night
me: HA
Chloe: do they seem to hold the same kind of fashion impracticality
me: well scarf and t-shirt is an unnecessary recent trend
Chloe: a little practical sacrifice to the fashion gods
me: but sunglasses at nite are classicer?
and wackier
and take more balls
scarf and tshrit is safe
Chloe: so tshirt with scarf people are being too safe?
what I didnt admit to you is that I wear a tshirt with a scarf when im in vic
all the time. the weather is such that a tshirt with a light neckwarmer is what is called for
I like the sunglasses at night look, but I often cant help feeling like they are struggling to see so I always do a close look to see how dark the lenses are
me: well light lenses
not like blue blockers
and only worn for a teeny window of time
but the scarf thing is safe now
and i dont think it will be going away either
i think it’s like when gay dudes wear cock rings on the nude beach, it’s a message to other dudes HEY IM READY TO PARTY – when someone wears a scarf and tshirt they are informing other scenesters, or even non-scenesters, HEY I AM INTO THE SCENE
i did not know about the west coast scarf necessity
and im not against it
like i said before its just me going hey i know what youre doing when you wear a scarf and tshirt at lee’s palace, its not for weather protection
Chloe: yeah, like maybe the palastinian scarf
that is pretty try hard with the tshirt
me: yes that style, but there are other scarf prints too playing on that
Chloe: true
yeah, it is a little over done. but I hate for the whole scarf look to be taken down with it
sigh
what a plight
me: well i have tried only once to road test this look and it looked stupid on me
it was a smaller kerchief and it looked like i was wearing an ascot, and i did it in oakville and i could tell that everyone was confused
hahaha plus it made my neck sweat and i got a rash from my necklace
Chloe: hahah. well I could see how that would leave a bad taste in your mouth
me: it also coincided just before the height of the trend too, derno if that means anything, i guess im trying to take ownership or be like i saw that band before you heard about them, plus i weighed more then so i hated every look on me
Chloe: yeah, it does suck when trend that seems interesting is beat to death
me: i think you have to be a skeleton to have anything look decent on your person
who else could we burn
what other trends
legwarmers? they were good when they were wacky and you wondered if your friend’s mental stability was in jeopardy
**EDIT – meant leggings.
Chloe: ok how about those 80’s mom sweathers
oh the leg warmers
bleh
me: yeah over complained about
i think sweaters in general are obnoxious
unless you are in an old spice commercial in aspen
Chloe: oh I sort of like them. once again though, I think that comes from the coast- everything you wear is like “in-between weather” wear.
sweaters, layers, light jackets, light scarves
stockings
me: everything i make fun of is because i dont own the right kind of it
everything i have is too big
or just wicked gay
Chloe: haha. tis true. like, I really want a vest
but I also sort of like to make fun of them in my head, because they are going to hit a peak
me: oh lindsay lohan has the same vest as me in her herbie movie music video
Chloe: too many people will wear them
herbie? oh wow.
me: they’re not even in vogue anymore
im surprised i found one at h&m
and in denim
Chloe: well, I think they still are, just not with the hipsters aka early adopters
they still have a half life with suburban mall goers
me: but yes a vest is another i know what you’re doing thing
Chloe: yeah exactly
but they look so damn good
tit, no tits, curves, no curves
me: but, i amend it, if its worn over a tight tiny tank then it’s ok, but if it’s a wacky dressy vest that went with a suit over a baggy t-shirt, thats posing
Chloe: it works on everybody it seems
me: also it tucks in yer love handles
Chloe: it made me feel all tucked in and put together
yeah
