Snake charming made easy

Big-ups to my triple chin close-up, thank yew Matt the minx for that (ps we have to shoot next week because this week I have broken out in to pizza face and I don’t think you have photoshop skills that are that advanced) and now I can’t wait to see the cinnamon challenge. Have you guys heard of that? You eat a spoonful of cinnamon and then you feel like the world is closing in on your throat and you either swallow or blow cinnamon everywhere. Mine looked like spew coming out of my mouth, oh nice! Thanks Sean for showing the super fans “how it is done” with me, til next time! (This is the night that definitely got me sick it was so cold and windy!)

And in my continuing quest of becoming asian we went to Pacific mall today! First time! I was not feeling very shoppy though so it was almost a wasted effort, well not so I did get a dress and specs I’ve been after. But I didn’t get my regular gobs of crystals and kawaii type chotchkis cos I wasn’t feeling spendy plus I was looking for my burlesque outfit which I couldn’t find in that maze of shiny foreign merchandise. We browsed and ambled and then left.

This look is very big in Japan, Asia, whatever. The flowers and the lace and the doll/90’s petite dressy look thing, I think the designer who started it is called Liz Lisa. HAHA this is a Liz Lisa dress, duhoye. This dress is very Xiaxue and I just realized with my pink wig combined with this dress, over the top so her. I dig her style anyway. The shop girl yelled out to me when I put this on oh my god you’re so skinny, she was shocked it fit so well. All the dresses there I am an amazon in, she said that in the backs of dresses from Hong Kong they are made smaller than from Korea because I put one teeny one on in particular and I looked like a giant exploding out of it thank god it didn’t explode. She said I was so skinny again when I put my shirt back on so I said oh haha thank you? She meant it in a funny way like she was proud that I came in her store, it made me feel special. I gave her my card and said I was a fashion blogger (why did I say that?? haha) but I’ll do her dress proud and she gave me a good deal. I almost got these cute underwears with bears on them elsewhere 5 for $12 but we couldn’t find the place again and we were feeling nappy and wanted to go.

It was overwhelming trying to decide which flower dress to buy, every store has similar dresses all spread out from stall to stall for halls and halls and all different prices on the stickers, reduced/clearances blabbity blah, it was very bartery and some are expensive we were so suckered in. I’ll post more pics later tomorrow. We had lunch at Wills landing and I basically got to see Teacher’s commute to work daily. Tomorrow, more shopping and rehearsing. I must find a yellow two piece and a yellow kerchief for my hair. Try finding that in a sea of this.

I’m not worried, do I sound worried. Not worried. Okay maybe a little bit. TV will fix that.

  1. uff i love p mall youre so lucky you can fit in their digs im too big. erm. curvy? lol. it was so sad i tried to find boots and they would never go over my chunky calves. found a cute bag though. that was the day my loose glitter opened in my makeup bag and i tried to air it out on the ride to the mall and my friends and i were covered in glitter. i mean covered. it was the caboodles glitter you remember those? in the little clear pots with the screwy lid that lasted FORever because lets face it, glitter is like herpes.

  2. aw im sure you can fit in something if you spend a bit more time, lots of dresses are big and billowy oversized, that seems to be a look still, big whimsicla blouses with lots of design and ah whatever. sorry for your glitter catastrophe sounds funny though i bet you were laughing through the anger.

  3. i was laughing the entire time! only the boyfriend was mad. actually he wasnt even that mad. it was right around the time of twilight so it was almost acceptable. i think i need to go with different people, the motley crue of people i brought were not shoppers and didnt appreciate anything there. i miss the glitter

  4. I love thatcideo of the pennywhistle/ butterfly dance! Very bohemian sixties. And cinnamon challenge… spent many hours watching tons of peeps on Youtube doing it- some of the funniest shit ever, laughed till I cried! Cruel, but really, people can be so reckless… anyway can’t wait to see your finished outfit. The big pink wig rocks!

  8. Hey Raymi! I love Pacific Mall too – it takes me back to my high school days, buying bubble tea and bootleg anime between classes. Actually, my old high school is walking distance from the mall, on Kennedy Road – it’s an alternative high school with it’s own wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Ward_Catholic_Secondary_School

I don’t know why people who claim that they’re hardcore Torontonian hate on Scarborough and Markham so much – out of all the places I’ve lived, that area and the people in it is in the top 3.

Looking good in the dress :)
