bottles goin’ off in the church
allow me to show you my board (steve zissou voice)(don’t worry there will be other stupid things aside from it in this post).
i kind of want to take these stickers off but i worry it’ll only ruin the under-design therefore, pointless. i’ll just have to keep adding more and more to cover up the ones i don’t like anymore. so basically if you have some cool/cute stickers give me them.
kristin secretly tucked that blythe sticker in my bag. so nice.
GF represent.
part of why these stickers irritate me so much is because they’re a reminder of all my missing CDs. sigh.
the stussy shoe was the first sticker i stuck to this thing. also the mcflys are finally going to be manufactured (you’re welcome) but they will be some ridiculous sum of money that no one can afford. plus, they ugs.
the things on the door are notes to myself – one to complain about the cigarette smoke venting into our unit and two the measurements of the old couch. on top of things, brah.
and while in that area of the room (where i stash my board) i rediscovered my old phone. it went through many different cellphone covers (and they weren’t cheap back then either).
this was my lifeline when i lived at my dad’s before he had internet, i played the shit out of snake and this pinball game. i guess i should donate the thing eh, there’s a drop off box at sonic boom i believe.
memory lane y’all.
nothing says mature 21 year old girlfriend-to-be (pick me pick me!) like an envelope decorated in this manner.
uhhh crazy much? took me a minute to figure this one out, quitting what, smoking? actually it’s when he quit his job.
one of my many weaknesses, princess engrish stationary.
wow i can’t even remember what 22 felt like other than rocking the worst hair style/colours ever and getting beer fat. playing a lot of megatouch too.
i take issue with the words: squish, squishy, and squishes. SHUDDER.
oh you shut up.
fil has muchos appreciation for bill the cat.
hahahahahah in the moonlight.
steph gave me this saturday nite.
that gray thing is a piece of wood that has been inside the back of my right thigh since i was 16, ten years. on my actual sixteenth birthday in drama class i hoisted myself up onto one of the painted black wooden boxes we used for skits and a sliver went right through my tight (slutty satin le chateau) pants into my thigh, deep, and i was too much of a pussy to tweeze it out. it has since healed over but a tiny speck pokes out. it’s hard to capture in a photo but i can grab either end of it and move it around. am i getting wood poisoning? it’s thicker than it looks in this photo, kinda the same size as the piece of bamboo i found in that package of frozen spinach. fyi i haven’t shaved higher than my knees since i was 17 (england) those are baby blond hairs, tight pants over the years have pretty much sanded ‘em all down.
it was pretty sunny, the glare from the cars ahead of us were blinding him so he wore my casino de niro glasses over them.
time to get new contact lenses dude.
so, i am what they refer to in the “skate” “world” as goofy footed. it’s basically like being left-handed, except, footed. i essentially taught myself how to longboard on the strip of manhattan beach when i was cray cray and ever since cannot undo it. i also snap backwards (thumb down instead of thumb up)(something i also taught myself ha) i swing a bat lefty too, and i punch with a left-hook (remember that shawn? haha). anyway it just feels right to me, left foot forward just does not compute with my brain. i’ve had those (free) shoes since i was 19, they’re by globe, the girl versions of called gallaz. they’re in pretty good condition is why i mention it.
stupid day to decide to part your bangs much. actually they didn’t get in the way really.
getting ready. also little known fact, this is the exact spot i first ever laid eyes on fil and he has no recollection of it. i had NO game and looked like a defeated greasy kid (was even wearing these same shoes), he was backing his motorcycle out of his mom’s garage where he stored it and i was thinking that’s who i belong with but look at me, never ever gonna happen but wouldn’t you know it less than a year later stella got her groove back and won her man. oh my god i should write shitty romance novels already.
lia says i should do tomboy more often.
that’s a brew in my pocket not a bun in the oven. it’s tough being a girl and skating you feel like you need to take all these things with you like makeup and maxi pads and hairspray haha kidding, but you know what i mean, what am i going to do once it gets warmer and i can’t rely on winter jacket pockets?
i haz a longboarding girl date soonly on the horizon.
thank you kirsty!
i am regressing.
skippin’ stones, no biggie.
well, kinda is really. not very good at it.
there’s a video of me actually skipping two i know you can’t wait to not watch.
i was all HEY lets collect polished beer glass and get a pretty bottle and this can be our new activity. abandoned it for the time being. need to acquire bottle first, didn’t feel like carrying around piles of wet glass and terracotta in my pockets.
don’t you already KNOW everything there is to know about this place yet!!!?
coffin pool, you will be mine. soon. alright more later this has been long enough.
hmm what could you possibly want?
this is the house tim allen lived in in the santa clause. the outside of it was was used anyway. we cruised by a lot growing up on sunday drives. i love that movie. you see a lot of oakville.
I longboarded the summer in between 1st and 2nd year uni because it was fun but also for the obvious boner-causing effects.
Then I went down this hill and it was too steep and it was a bad stop/fall and I’ve been terrified ever since. My friend laura did the same thing on the same board and got road rash all over her face.
How steep do you go? I’m a wimp.
i go down hills within reason. i find i get more brave when i’m buzzed (obvs) and do some really stupid/cocky things sometimes without caution like going down harbord toward and through traffic lights at 2 in the morning, blasted. knock on wood have never broken a bone. don’t be afraid of road rash just get back on that thing practice in parking lots/school grounds etc i regret putting it down for so long though it had a lot to do with feeling like a lardo and the thing attracts a ton of attention to begin with so, anyway, now i’m complacent enough i guess i just have to get my limber back.
Since we’re discovering old items, I wanted to let you know that I found the bday card from you and Fil from last year. It’s a postcard with some cartoony asian chick on it. It is now earned a spot on my magnetic board in my office. I’m still not cool enough to have a longboard but I’m working on it.

aw tiff <3
LOVE the pic of Cid vs. looming Swiss Chalet!
I am in awe of skate/longboarders. The ONLY time I got on one, I put one foot on the it, rolled right underneath me, landed on my ass and the board then landed smack dab on my nose. I didn’t know that much blood could come out of a nose. I am going to admire you from afar, and stick to my bicycle.
you can cycle alongside me and drag me too if you wanted. it’s fun to have a board with you at last call cos drunk dudes outright demand to give it a go and 100000% chances are they do what you did, normally the board shoots out ahead super fast and comically and they can’t chase after it cos they’re jumbled up in a pile of mess of themselves on the pavement. they just can’t put it together in their mind that they are stepping onto a wheeled surface that wants to roll. it is most hilarious when said person is an obnoxious daddy’s money snob wearing boat shoes, not that that actually happened or anything…
Nice ‘waste case’ sticker. I need one of those, common nick name
ha that’s my sharpie scribble
I too collect stickers, but I stick them on my notebooks and sketchbooks (which you have seen). We have some of the same!
haha nice one!
You should write a romance novel. I’d buy that for sure. Maybe you could include stickers with it.
This little red car (sticker on your skateboard) is, without any doubt, polish Fiat 126p. Funny
i used to board when i was in junior high…had to do it at night because the boys would try and sabotage (read: beat me up) me… im so hardcore i have a purple and pink iron cross (independent trucks) and the New Deal sawblade tattooed on me…go me haha
it all came to a head when i was hanging out with some friends after class at “the smokers tree”, and this dude who shall remain nameless just literally came up to me and started pushing me around, totally unprovoked (i was the token skater girl in our small alberta town so maybe that was provocation enough??)…the next thing i know, he rips my eyebrow ring out ON PURPOSE and i retaliated by smashing him in the face with my board over and over and over and over until my friends dragged me off of him and down to the hospital…
i still have the goddamn scar. him, i hear he has dentures now (Independent Trucks, you do some nice work)
i have never been skateboarding since.
the red car sticker came with the beck cd, the information.
oh man jodie that story is brutal, sorry. are you never going to skate again?
aw thnx raymi…
i dont know…something about it terrifies me. i try to remember how good it felt to be on one but then i touch my eyebrow and i want to cry.
how someone could ever do that, for seemingly no reason, has added to my belief that people in general are NOT inherently good. and i know its not highschool anymore, and that tons of dudes appreciate women skaters, but still…i dont think i could handle another confrontation without police and EMS being called (and not for me, ha!)
to this day, i still ask myself why he did it. why he had to attempt and succeed at taking something i wholeheartedly enjoyed and putting back up every fuckin wall of selfconsciousness that i had painstakingly tried to destroy, for me, for all the girls in my town who liked to skate.
so maybe i will, one day. but it will be in solitude and in darkness.
I liked the you and fil story… it’s great how you’re tough, and super sentimental at the same time. It’s genuine! Why/how did you run into fil that first time, raymi?
My sister had a permanent pen mark on her collarbone because some kid in first grade jabbed her with it. Your splinter story reminded me of that.
my mom was dating the neighbour. she knew about fil before i did and to this day takes full credit as if my dressing like a hot tramp had nothing to do with it.
alexis that sounds extremely painful and i am cringing right now.
Awww Cid looks so cute and I love those jeans on you. I also dig the story about your shoes and they are indeed in great shape.
My folks’ house was used in the movie too. He landed on it in his sleigh. I was in the movie. I was one half of a married couple opening a door and welcoming a neighbour with a bottle of whiskey, next door to my folks’ house while Tim Allen drives by. My sister played my wife. But not like a Donny & Marie thing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donny_&_Marie
Hmm.
keep the longboard as is. i like those stickers. maxi pad hahahahaahahahahaahahahaahaha
stop ignoring my texts on the weekends.
Oh man, Bruce Lee and Bjork, two of the best things/people in the world.
that bjork sticker was totally mine
no winter jacket = fanny pack to hold the brew. Seriously. you can do it, and make it look good.
I’m confused. Did you have a paper route or a flower route?
I never know what to comment on when your posts are ten feet long.
hi R-
I’d either take drunken bored night or hyped time to take out wood. Unless you think it is like Samoson’s hair, without it your powers get revoked, I believe it can only do harm. Slice one end + w/ tweezers pull out. It’ll be cathartic $ sure as your worried already about it.
Do more art, sell it via eBay… my girl did that+ racked a few hundie already.
cheers- F
I was goofy footed too when I used a skateboard in the 80s. I would not use one now because my bones are brittle.
I also would play guitar left handed if I knew how. ha
And when I first started writing (printing I guess) the teacher made me switch hands from left to right.
so CUTE How romantic, all the cards, awwwww!
Hey check it out, when I was 15 or so I used to skateboard down our street with my neighbor, Laura Thornhill- now it’s Cahill- one of the FIRST champ girl skaters- now you know how ancient i am
I quit, she went on to become famous (70’s people!) She’s still around- google it if you care to
Love the pics of Sid- such a pretty puddy! Those EYES! :-O
omg mungo!!!!!!!
yes kate the bjork sticker came with the cd.
jamie i had no route it was a joke, the girl is throwing a newspaper.
fritter one of these days it’s gonna have to go.
