told ya so

here is the post from when we first ate here and i called it inevitably going under aaaaaand anyway, i was right. for some stupid reason they took what i ate off the menu, how can you e a chicken place and have no quarter chicken plate? fil says the article about them read that it wasn’t for lack of customer clientele whathaveyou cough*bullshit*cough. i wonder what the next piece of shit restaurant on the corner of this block to fail will be? can’t wait! second time i went to cluck bla bl alba.

ok i feel like a total dick now – owner has cancer. still though, this corner is crap for businesses. i bet it’s cos of all the AA meeting skids hangin’round ‘cross the street with their coffee cups and cig butts.

  1. hahahaha did you see the sign they had up in the window that had the pig saying “Swine flu”,
the chick saying “Asian Bird Flu”
and the cow saying “Mad Cow Disease”????????

  2. You fucking take that all back. Absolute sacrilege on your part. Their smoked dry rub ribs were incredible. I…I can’t even look at you now.

  3. this is a MYSTERY corner! In the 7 years that I have lived in the Annex I’ve seen this spot change hands more times than any other lot on the strip.
Also, have I told you why it shut down? Not because of sales…

  4. i read on a sign last week that the owner had died suddenly…no idea if this is true or not!

  5. it’s a cursed corner! the black history month dudes teamed up with the crazy old lady with the insane ankles and they put a hex on it after JJ muggs moved out. I just know it.

  6. Your bangs/fringe were rocking in that second visit post… It’s good that they’re grown out again, but pictures like that must make you somewhat indecisive sometimes, no?

  7. nothing at that corner stays open very long. must be something to do with the landlord or something. I never ate there (when it was CGL) but then again I never ate there when it was the Thai place either. oh well!

  8. Was not a fan. Still eager to trek out to Ossington and College to try Phil’s Original Barbecue. Best pulled pork sandwich was at Noon, R.I.P.

  9. Phil’s has the best pulled pork and brisket. CGL had best ribs. New BBQ sandwich place on King called Lou Dawgs. Want to try it.
