Robbie Burns day is January 25th; it’s his birthday. He was Scotland’s national poet. St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s day is celebrated on the day of his death. These two occasions are perhaps similar only in that they feature excessive drinking, often by people who don’t understand the significance of the day. Also: knee high socks are hot.
