I hosted the 2008 edition (there was no ’09, but I was about to host that too). I was asked to make a presentation at the lead-up event when they would have the nominees for HIp hop compete and be judged for who would be the winner.

I was supposed to come on in the middle, say a few words, and perform a few songs so that people associated with the TIMAs would have already got familiar with me before the big show. So I did my thing and found out later that the judges misunderstood what was going on and voted me winner in Best Live Hip Hop despite my ineligibility.
