i have seen a dog interact with cows and no one seemed to be hatin’.

anyway the real reason i’m commenting is because i cannot understand why a canadian would have a confederate flag hanging. was it a southern who moved to canada b/c they don’t believe in the union? i know americans misappropriate other cultural symbols all the time is that what is going on here?

ya twinsies isnt unheard-of; in the dairy world that usually means one if not both of the calves will be sterile..

it happened to our neighbors who show cows professionally so they just gave the female to my mom for a pet; thats atleast a half-million dollar cow’s potential down the drain :S

they are definitely for eatin’, not milkin’, and the cow actually gave birth to twins (one of whom she refuses to feed – they have to tie her up and put a bag on her head to let the disliked one latch on and suckle). she’s got a chain and a rope on her neck, and is kept separate (with her calves) from the herd (which includes a bunch of other calves).

she had more than one? weird! might not have all been hers but yeah that sounds like one that just gave birth, hormone crazy!

i dunno if you knew this, but dairy cows are bred specifically to generate more milk; they get milked until they’re “dry” and then go to pasture while knocked up, then milked again and so on; whereas beef cows, well, they just pop out babies to keep the herd numbers up

beef cows are usually less friendly because they arent handled as much; if you can find a dairy farm, those cows will let you feed em and pet em until your hand drops off or you run out of grass, one of the two

would make a super awesome excellent post, i think!
